DOULA A doula can be involved prior to the birth, during the birth, or after (or any combination of those three). Typically, doulas live out of your home and offer a few hours care several times a week in the weeks immediately following the birth. The idea is to reduce the time they spend with the family as you become more used to having a new baby in the home. Doulas are not able to give medical advice, their role is to empower and encourage you so you have enough information to make informed choices at every stage of pregnancy and labour. 2 x visits pre birth, birth attendance and 2 x post birth visit £1000 Click a title below for more information: NB the average price of a maternity nurse for a single baby is between £135-£165 per 24hrs, for twins it is £185-£210 and for triplets it is £200-£220. Don’t forget that every new mum is entitled to the government grant of £190 for all babies due after April 09 http://campaigns.direct.gov.uk/money4mum2be/ All maternity nurses are self employed so you don’t need to worry about tax or NI at all.
